Dreadrock is a large reggae bar right in the middle of the Red Light District. The music is not exclusively reggae. Sometimes MTV is shown on a big, projected screen and there are occasional live DJs. Alcohol is available.

The RLD isn't generally associated with classy coffeeshops but this place ain't bad.

We spent last weekend some time there. The shop is great, the people there very helpful.

This is the second time I have been to the Dreadrock this year and its growin on me, the pool table always seems empty, the staff are a great laugh, always eager to share a joke, good beer and a good location. Bought a lovely batch of ak-47 which I missed out on last time so I rolled another spliff and proceeded to get rather blissfully smashed. Add to this a hilariously aggressive sales pitch from the professional ladies in the basement below and you get a cafe that's just right for a small group looking for a good smoke with a beer or two to kick the night off.

I liked the Dreadrock cafe, not too far from the hotel we chilled here most nights as the beers were cheap and the pool was 7 euros per hour, which is a good rate. The staff sometimes seemed unaware that there was customers waiting to be served and was just messing around between themselves. I brought some Chrystle Blondy Skunk from here which was very white with a lot of crystals, hence then name lol. It was a nice smoke and the atmosphere of the cafe was very good with some reggae music and some more of the latest dance hall tune like Sean Paul and Wayne Wonder etc. 8/10 don't forget to try the nachos they're well tasty!

I love this place, always friendly staff, nice drinks and good music. The pool tables are nearly always open and a great price, couple this with a great sofa on the same floor overlooking RLD it's a great place to chill for a few hours. I always make my way there and I have been over to the Dam a lot. We have bought some Scuff there before and wasn't disappointed, but it is normally a place I go after visiting other coffeeshops for my stash. I have spent a few Queens day celebrations here too, they have a bar outside and the music on the bridge makes for a great time and view. You will like. Four stars.

Catered very well for our group of seven blokes. Cheap pool upstairs (7 Euro per hour). Very potent batch of AK-47 was being sold.

Started pouring down rain one afternoon, so we ducked into "Dread Rock" to stay dry. Not a place I would have gone to on purpose, but I was glad that I did happen to drop in, not a bad place at all. Upstairs is a bar, wood decor, decent ambiance, had a couple bourbon and cokes, good prices. There are several stools around the bar, booths as well, and nice window seats looking out to the Voorburgwal canal and all the action in the RLD. There is also a downstairs w/ a pool table, several bean bag chairs and couches w/ coffee tables, dim lights, good music (reggae of course, as well as soul & rock), a small bar (good tea) and generally a very nice ambiance, was a great place to wait out the storm. I didn't try any of the weed there as we already had a large stash, however the gal behind the counter heard us saying that we wished we had some better hash, and then she gave us a nice hunk of some excellent black hash for free, didn't know what it was as she had gotten it from a friend, but it was exactly what we wanted!!! We talked and puffed, had a great time just chillin' there. Might be worth a stop when you're in the RLD, I found "Dread Rock" very inviting, 3 stars.

Dread Rock is not a place I hang out in regularly, but I really liked the hash I got there last year, and as far as reggae-themed coffeeshops go, it's about the best I've been to. Some have a dark, gangster vibe, which is hardly what I want when I'm getting high.
